Donation Brings Tears of Joy
Donate A Classroom - Robert F. Kennedy Elementary receives generous donation from Remington Moving & Storage and Hertz Furniture
The 4th grade students at Robert F. Kennedy Elementary School in Compton, CA recently got what they’ve deserved for a long time — new classroom furniture to match their can-do attitude.
Still using furniture purchased when the school was built in the 1960s, the students have been putting up with pieces that were broken, too small and even dangerous. Hertz Furniture partnered with Remington Moving and Storage to replace their old student chairs and desks with new, comfortable and space-saving chair-desk combo units. Mrs. McConnell, the teacher, received a desk and chair after she’d had to go without for several years. In addition to the chairs-desks, Hertz Furniture also provided an activity table and chairs for group study, a colorful rug to brighten the space and a sturdy steel cabinet for the teacher’s files.
The cost of the furniture was covered by Hertz; seeing the tears of joy on the faces of staff and student alike was all the payment we needed.
